Packaging: Integrity and the EnvironmentThe Ethical Man selects packing materials with you and the environment in mind. We want our items to arrive safely to you, but without generating unnecessary waste. This page is meant to help explain our thought process and highlight why we package the way we do. We request that you reuse or recycle any materials you receive with your order.
Shipping Boxes We use 100% post-consumer waste (PCW) GlobeGuard shipping boxes. Packing Paper Packing paper is necessary to ensure that your purchase doesn't shift around inside the shipping box. However, we don't currently buy new paper. Instead, we reuse paper collected from shipments we've received or from day-to-day life. If and when we do need to buy it in the future, we will only consider 100% PCW paper. Cardboard "Floors" Sometimes we use a cardboard "floor" to better cushion your purchase. Like the packing paper, these "floors" are always taken from reused stock. Craft Boxes The craft boxes we currently use, while a small component of any shipment by volume, are neither particularly eco-friendly nor particular eco-unfriendly. We welcome suggestions for environmentally friendlier options via our contact form. Tissue Paper The tissue paper we currently use, while an even smaller component of any shipment by volume (compared to the craft boxes), is standard tissue paper. We welcome suggestions for eco-friendlier options via our contact form. |
